Neurones 3D vs SuperSplat
Looking for a SuperSplat alternative? Neurones 3D is free, offline point cloud and Gaussian splatting software for Windows: the free viewer runs every process, from AI classification to dimensioned floor plans, and a one-time paid edition saves the results.
SuperSplat is PlayCanvas’s open-source, browser-based platform for inspecting, cleaning, converting, publishing and sharing Gaussian splats, with the splat-transform command line tool for scripted conversions.

The short answer
Choose Neurones 3D when a splat has to become survey data: a point cloud you can classify, a section, a measurement or a floor plan in DXF, beside laser scans and offline on your own PC. Choose SuperSplat when the goal is a clean splat on the web: it is free, runs in any modern browser, edits and compresses splats and publishes them for anyone to view. They complement each other: clean and publish the splat in SuperSplat, and take the same PLY or SPZ into Neurones 3D for the drawings and analysis.

Where Neurones 3D is stronger
- Converts a splat to a real point cloud, then draws a dimensioned floor plan saved as DXF R2000, SVG and PDF.
- Classifies the converted cloud with trained models (indoor, aerial LiDAR, powerline, streetscape), with a confidence per point.
- Registers two captures automatically by cloud-to-cloud alignment, where SuperSplat aligns splats by hand.
- Opens LAS, LAZ and E57 laser scans, so a splat and a scan can be compared in one scene.
- Meshes splats to a three-level glTF LOD chain, and to Poisson or clean meshes through the point cloud.
Where SuperSplat is stronger
- SuperSplat is free and open source, and runs in a browser with nothing to install; Neurones 3D is Windows only.
- SuperSplat publishes and hosts splats on superspl.at, with compressed SOG, streamed LOD and a single-file HTML viewer for the web.
- Neither tool trains splats, but SuperSplat has a full splat editor for cleaning, colour grading and camera animation.
Who should choose which
Choose Neurones 3D to take a point cloud or a splat capture to a finished deliverable on your own machine: classified LAS, a dimensioned floor plan with sections and elevations in DXF, a DTM with contours, a change map or a report, without an account, an upload or a subscription. Every figure it publishes is measured; see the benchmarks.
Choose SuperSplat: Anyone who needs to clean up, compress and publish a splat on the web for free, and share it as a scene page or a single-file HTML viewer.
Questions
Is SuperSplat free?
SuperSplat: Free. Free use: The editor is free and open source under the MIT licence. Neurones 3D’s free viewer opens, views and runs every process; writing results out needs a paid edition bought once.
Does SuperSplat work offline?
SuperSplat: partly. Runs in the browser and uploads nothing until you publish; can be installed as an app from the browser. Neurones 3D: yes. No account, no internet connection, no telemetry.
Does SuperSplat support Gaussian splats?
SuperSplat: yes. Imports PLY, SOG, SPZ, SPLAT, KSPLAT, LCC; exports PLY, SOG, SPZ, SPLAT and an HTML viewer; does not train. Neurones 3D: yes. Opens PLY and SPZ splats, converts them to points, meshes them; does not train splats.
What is the best alternative to SuperSplat?
